Works with Officer to evaluate financial and other information and uses internal and external sources to get the best read on the strengths, weaknesses, and potential risks involved with each loan request. Documents the underwriting decision and supporting rationale in writing - in a clear, concise, and candid manner. Ensures that all loans meet CPB quality targets, lending policies, and underwriting guidelines. Helps drive improvement initiatives. Ensures quality service and contributes strongly to meeting department objectives for a quality loan portfolio and development of lending personnel. -Performs all duties and interacts with internal and external customers in a manner that is expressly aligned with the Company's Core Values of approaching all actions with a "Voyaging Spirit" and being "Positively Ohana". Exhibits core competencies that result in consistent delivery of positive Customer Interactions, Empowerment and Ownership and demonstrates key professional and performance skills such as Active Listening, effective Oral and Written Communication, Action and Solution Oriented and Thoroughness.Primary Accountabilities:

  • Conduct timely, well-informed, and balanced analysis, by evaluating financial and other information, resolving issues, and by accessing other internal and external sources. Also, recommend appropriate loan structures, to meet the needs of both customer and bank.
  • Prepare written CAM, Modification, and other credit actions which shall clearly, concisely and candidly communicate the underwriting decision and key supporting evidence.
  • Reviews and tracks division's portfolio to minimize exceptions, maximize compliance, and proactively address upcoming credit requests. Maintain quality of loans in team portfolio of account relationships through diligent supervision and collection efforts, keeping abreast of trends and developments both within and outside the Bank that could impact or affect the quality of the assigned portfolio. Keep on top of all credits and downgrade loans as necessaryMinimum Qualifications: -Education: -
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field of study.
    • Preferring a combination of education and comparable work experience providing the understanding, skills, and ability to perform essential duties of the position.Experience: -
      • Previous experience in commercial credit analysis, underwriting or commercial lending required.
      • 6+ years of experience in commercial credit analysis/ underwriting or commercial lending preferred. -
        • Must be able to moveand transport items up to 20lbs and perform other light physical work. -
        • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including phone, personal computer, copier, etc. -
        • Must be able to communicate and exchange clear and accurate information so that internal and external customers will understand. -
        • Must be able to actively engage in work related discussions and interactions. -
        • Must be able to read and comprehend bank and business-related documents. -
        • Must be able to work in a conventional work setting, involving being in a stationary position at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. -
