DESCRIPTION: The E 4P CORPORATE TAXES -Department of the E
CORPORATE TAXES -Division at Hawaiian Electric Industries has 1 -
Management vacancy available. - (Role: Professional ) JOB
FUNCTION:Supports the Director and Manager, Corporate Taxes, in the
calculation and reporting of taxes of Hawaiian Electric Industries
(HEI) and its subsidiaries in returns required to be filed in
compliance with all tax laws. Involves preparation of the
documentation supporting the calculation and proper periodic
reporting of taxes, and processing timely payment of taxes.
Monitors current filing requirements and legislation that impact
calculation and processing of non-income tax payments and certain
tax returns for government compliance.Computes executives' imputed
income of certain benefits compensation; maintains HEI (including
selected subsidiaries) fixed asset records and prepares
depreciation reports; coordinates with Controller's office in the
development and administration of the department budget, including
five-year payroll tax projections; obtains federal and state tax
clearances for all HEI companies; and manages department documents
and records (index, archive, retrieval, retention and destruction);
and manages department calendars.Communicates directly with outside
parties, such as IRS and state agencies, financial institutions,
and consultants with regards to administrative and document
production matters.Provides general administrative support to the
Corporate Taxes department.
-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSExecutive Compensation - Coordinates and
communicates on a corporate-wide basis to gather information and
compute executives' imputed income related to select benefit
compensation to ensure consistency across companies
-Fixed Assets - Works independently to record and maintain fixed
asset records in the company's fixed asset software
-BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge Requirements
1. Authorize -the Hawaiian Electric Companies -to confirm all
statements contained in the application and/or any materials
submitted and made a part of the application as they relate to the
position and to the extent permitted by law;
2. Authorize and consent to, without reservation, the Hawaiian
Electric Companies sharing any and all information regarding
previous or present employment, educational training or personal
information from their records and from any other source with the

3. Release, discharge, and hold harmless, Hawaiian Electric
Companies, from any and all -liability for any damage which may be

4. Authorizes release and transfer of all personnel records to be
maintained by the hiring company in the event of an inter-company
transfer; and
5. Authorize, direct, and consent to Hawaiian Electric Companies
and/or its authorized agents to conduct investigations into
candidates' background. -These investigations may include, but are
not limited to searches for information about applicants; record of
criminal convictions to the extent permitted by law, education
records, professional certifications, personal character
