WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): Under general guidance, collect and evaluate data from organizational units and prepare recommendations for deliverables including financial plans and/or financial analysis. Provide business leaders with financial forecasts to support short and long - term decision making. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. The Analyst II , Maui Wildfires, is a term position for an approximately 2 year position (timeline from about October). The position will support the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Operation to the tragic Maui Wildfires as well as other Long Term Recovery Programs. The Finance analyst will report to the - on the relief operation as well as NHQ Finance. The analyst will support the operation with any financial needs related to the entire operation and focus on supporting long-term recovery operations, which includes monitoring direct client assistance and funding provided to grant partners. This position also supports recovery program design and operational monitoring of financial controls for varied payment options-prepaid cards, checks and electronic funds transfer (EFT). Role includes:

• The response and NCS phase of the operation lasting about 6 months - 1-year. within NCS Red Cross supports survivors whose homes were destroyed to stay in hotels).
• the long-term recovery program which may last 2 years from the start of the event. Financial needs of the operation that the analyst will support include:
  • Assisting the operation with using financial transaction tools,
  • monitoring and advising on financial controls,
  • monitoring the current cost of the operation and forecasting the entire cost and rebudgeting as necessary,
  • reviewing and approving grants and transfers of funds to partner agencies. The analyst is expected to "get their hands dirty" with the regular finance day-to-day work and whatever is highest priority at that moment. This is an on-site, work-in-person opportunity. Candidates must live on, able to commute to, or be willing to move to the island of Maui for the full duration of the operation (approx. 2 years). Candidates must be willing to work almost completely in the office of the disaster relief operation and conduct frequent site visits. This is not a work-from-home opportunity. Under limited supervision, collect and evaluate data from organizational units and prepare recommendations for deliverables including financial plans and/or financial analysis. May provide business leaders with financial forecasts to support short and long - term decision making. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Conduct and document moderately complex financial analysis projects. 2. Interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. 3. Provide monthly revenue and/or expense analyses and reports. 4. Monitor operating budget process and allocations. Provide analysis to determine present and future performance. 5. Support the development and maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and systems. Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required. Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Management Experience: N/A Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards. Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team. Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout the Red Cross system. *Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted). The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic).
