A day in your life as a Treasury Operations Senior Specialist:Under the direction of the Treasury Operations Manager, the position is responsible for the design, development and management/administration of one or more of the following operational areas: (1) Processing securities transactions, settlements, custody and collateral management; (2) Processing foreign exchange and money market transactions; and (3) Monitoring the Bank's liquidity position at various financial institutions. In addition, the Treasury Operations Senior Specialist works in conjunction with the Treasury Operations Manager in the development of reporting, department analytics and daily/monthly processes, ensuring the accuracy of all reporting within Treasury. Ensures business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Fair Banking, Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act.
We'll give you these important responsibilities---


  • Supervises and oversees day-to-day operations including the processing of securities booked in the investment portfolio system, collateral management, entering and settling of foreign exchange transactions in the Bank's multi-currency system and monitoring the intraday liquidity of our accounts at various financial institutions. Independently handles all operational requirements. Proficiency in data gathering from various systems and platforms is required. Works independently to perform complex processing requirements.
  • Provides review of the daily, monthly, weekly, quarterly and ad hoc reports regarding the investment portfolio and foreign exchange transactions. Provides guidance on report content and presentation. Develops financial forecasts and management reports, and provides general leadership to help establish and achieve division and corporate wide goals and objectives. Completes various memos, reports, and internal and external correspondence, as appropriate and on a timely basis. Prepares responses for internal and external auditors.
  • Conducts department level projects to increase income, reduce costs, and manage risks related to Treasury investments, services, and operations; researches, develops, and implements procedural and operational changes; monitors regulatory and investment policy compliance; maintains internal controls; prepares for and responds to audits; assists with division level and other external projects related to or impacting department operations; conducts presentations and communicates at all levels.
  • Provides guidance to and management of junior staff, including staffing and scheduling, compensation, performance management, goal setting, training and development. Responsible for the timely and effective management of Human Resources forms and documents relevant to immediate staff. Educates users on systems and processes. Provides cross training with other team members to maintain effective back up. Provides technical assistance and review of work for junior and peer staff members. Works with team members to ensure that established goals and objectives are met. Assists in overseeing staff compliance to policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for project activities with internal IT support as well as vendors on system related issues involving installation, testing and implementation of software upgrades, enhancements, conversions, process improvements and other system changes. Coordinates and provides leadership in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures relative to the various functions.

    Education:


    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience, major in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting or related subject preferred.

      Experience:


      • Minimum 5 - 7 years related work experience in banking, treasury, or investment management or equivalent work experience.
      • Supervisory experience preferred.

        Technical Skills:


        • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
        • Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
        • Experience using portfolio accounting systems preferred.
        • Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal preferred.

          Other Job Qualifications:


          • Demonstrated verbal and written communication, inter-personal and analytic skills.
          • Self-starter who requires minimal supervision, with the ability to work across multiple departments and divisions, as well as with external service providers to achieve desired results within aggressive timeframes.
          • Able to communicate and work with all levels of management across the company.
          • Possesses a collaborative management style that includes teamwork, team building, conflict management, negotiation and problem solving skills.
          • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and early mornings or evenings as needed or assigned.
