* DutiesHelp## Duties### SummaryYou will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader (Optical) in the Prodcution Department Code 930 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.Learn more about this agency### Responsibilities* You will assign work orders to specific crewmembers and select workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities.* You will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) who performs optical alignment for critical ship systems.* You will be the SME in applying a variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to layout, install, align, overhaul, repair and maintain numerous types of marine machinery equipment.* You will work with blue prints, plans, and test procedures, construct theoretical reference lines based on shipboard features and tranfer reference lines as needed.* You will collect measurement data, analyze and evaluate according to plan or test procedure specifications and notify tech code of deficiencies.* You will design and fabricate fixtures to facilitate measurements.### Travel RequiredOccasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.##### Supervisory statusNo##### Promotion Potential11* #### Job family (Series)5334 Marine Machinery Mechanic* RequirementsHelp## Requirements### Conditions of Employment* Must be a US Citizen.* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.* New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
