Monarch Insurance Services (MIS) was established in 1981 as an independent insurance agency specializing in the property & casualty insurance space. In 2018, MIS joined Acrisure as one of its global Agency Partners to provide a complete spectrum of personal, commercial, benefits, and specialty insurance solutions for a range of industries.

MIS has an extensive list of clients in several major industries including private independent schools/education, real estate, construction, development, healthcare, non-profits, social services, and hospitality. MIS, an Acrisure agency partner, has a current need for a full-time Commercial Lines Account Manager. This position will be responsible for assisting in the production of new accounts and the retention of existing accounts. Provides prompt, efficient, high-quality service to designated accounts in support of Producer activities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for gathering the exposure and risk management information for the renewal of designated accounts in compliance with all department protocols
  • Prepare & maintain exposure information schedules and applications for designated clients and prospects
  • Maintains a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency, and company personnel to minimize potential for errors & omissions claims
  • After reviewing updated client exposure information, obtains other renewal information from insured, and completes applications for designated renewal business in compliance with all department protocols. Assists Producer as needed
  • Prepares and submits required renewal underwriting information/submission in compliance with all department protocols
  • Reviews quotes for accuracy and prepares client proposals. Assists Producer as needed
  • Binds coverage with carrier and coordinates all post binding activity with the Processing Center in compliance with all department protocols (no-fault cards, certificates of insurance, finance contracts, policy file preparation, and TAM preparation)
  • Reviews policies, endorsements, and audits within 2 weeks of receipt and coordinates response to client with Processing Center
  • Documents all material client and carrier correspondence through the activity function of TAM & Paperwise and all other department protocols
  • Maintains clean and accurate paperless files in TAM & Paperwise in compliance with department protocol
  • Maintains accurate records in compliance with department protocol
  • Follows department protocols for the scanning of documents into Papwerwise
  • Receives phone calls and office visitors requesting quotes, changes to existing coverage and/or new policies. Completes changes/requests within 48 hours of receipt. Determines acceptability and placement, completes applications or endorsements requests in compliance with all department protocols
  • Reviews existing accounts with Producer to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited
  • Coordinates the preparation and submittal of loss notices with the Processing Center to carrier within 24 hours of receipt
  • Returns all phone calls within 24 hours of receipt
  • Follows up on outstanding claims and provides assistance as necessary
  • Works with direct report to develop professional and educational goals
  • Maintains positive and professional relationships with all carrier personnel
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management

    Education And/or Experience
    • High school diploma or the recognized equivalent in education and experience, required
    • All licenses required by the State of Hawaii Department of Insurance, required
    • Two years experience in property and casualty underwriting and marketing with a multi-line insurance agency or brokerage operation
      Technology Skills
      • TAM or similar agency management software experience, preferred
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
