1091 SummaryThe Community Relations Manager is responsible for the
successful leadership of IHS communications and public relations
planning and activities. - Essential Functions
- Develop and execute annual communications plan to include
traditional and digital media opportunities. -
- Actively seek media opportunities (interviews, community
presentations, webinars, etc..) for executive director, community
relations director, program staff, or self.
- Manage press releases and other communications to bring
recognition to corporate and foundation partner and donor
efforts.
- Manage development of multi-media marketing initiatives such as
PSAs, organizational overviews, success stories, virtual tours,
etc..
- Oversee general brand management areas, identifying
opportunities to elevate the IHS brand through media, marketing, or
partnerships.
- Plan and host live and virtual events to improve relationships
with donors, partners, or the community.Additional Duties
- Regularly attend and participate in team meetings, all staff
meetings and strategy sessions. -
- Support teammates as needed with special projects such as large
volunteer opportunities, holiday card mailings, donor appreciation
calls, and more.
- Occasional TV or radio appearances
- Occasional Neighborhood Board or other Public Relations Event
Participation Supervisory Responsibility This position may have
direct or indirect supervisory responsibility to help execute the
initiatives listed above. Will also have responsibility for
managing relationships with external consultants and/or third party
vendors contracted to support marketing work.May also have
occasional supervisory responsibility of community volunteers or
interns who are providing office or event assistance. The
responsibility when assigned, includes ensuring volunteers are
working safely, are monitored and supported to have a positive
volunteer experience.

- Brand management -
- Working knowledge of social media platforms and best practices
to gain and engage followers
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills; networking
ability.

- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and
commitment to mission.
- Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous,
fast-moving environment.Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public
Relations or related field. -
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a Public Relations,
Marketing or Communications role.
- Demonstrated experience with website management, branding
strategy and communication with the general public, businesses and
donors. -Preferred Education & Experience
- Knowledge of philanthropic messaging/donor communications
strategies.
- 3+ years of Marketing experience in a Nonprofit setting.
- Understanding of Hawai'i media landscape. -IHS is an Equal
