As part of the Office Experience Organization, the Scriptor team is developing a new, extensible, freaky-fast typing canvas to power next-generation collaboration across Microsoft 365. As a product, we provide the canvas experience in Microsoft Loop, delivering an innovative product experience for collaborative text + blocks and hosting Loop Components. As a platform, we are utilizing Fluid Framework and developing an SDK which enables developers to contribute textual authoring features which are isolated and scalable yet deeply embedded in the experience -- whether those features are written by our own team's product initiatives or by engineering partners across the organization.We are searching for a new engineering leader to join the team we're building in Redmond. If you can coach and mentor a team of engineers, help them learn and grow, foster a culture of inclusion, and lead them to successfully deliver software sprint after sprint -- all the while learning how to be a better leader and manager yourself -- this might be the job for you.**Responsibilities**+ Coach and mentor a team of 6-7 engineers so they all learn, grow, and succeed.+ Plan and prioritize work for your team, including collaborating with partner organizations.+ Provide oversight and accountability for technical decisions.+ Work with Product Mangers and Designers to define new product features.+ Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers.+ Constantly learn and grow as an engineer and an engineering leader.+ Demonstrate a passion for customers (both end-users and developers) and technology.**Qualifications**Core:+ Technical leadership experience in high-performing, agile teams+ 8+ years of industry experience working on commercial software application or services, with comfortability in both object-oriented and functional programming languages+ Solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patternsBonus:+ Experience with Typescript and the web platform is preferred.+ 2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers by setting clear expectations, keeping team members energized, and delivering great results.+ Collaboration - you can explain your work, you can ask great questions, you can listen to your peers and your customers, you can influence without authority, and you like to give and receive feedback constructively.+ Desire to ship software that solves real problems for real people, now.+ An understanding that it's not enough to write working code.
