Position Description The HR Business Partner. Manager reports to the Corporate HR Director, and is located in Honolulu, Hawaii. The incumbent will serve as a tactical business partner and HR team leader to Pacific Shipyards International LLC as its primary client group, driving and implementing HR initiatives that deliver: Strategic Planning and Partnership, Workforce Planning and Recruitment, Talent Management Processes, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Engagement, DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion), Performance Management, Employee Relations, Conflict Resolution, Compliance, Workers Compensation, Leaves of Absence, HR Information Systems, and Technologies Platforms.Pacific Shipyards International (PSI) is committed to serving the maritime community with the highest standards of safety and excellence with full-service maritime repair and conversion. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Leads a team of HR professionals and manages the administration, quality, and output of all Human Resource Activities for the assigned client group. Serves as a strategic consultant to the Executive leadership team on a broad range of organizational issues of critical importance to the business Identify creative solutions, advise, and make recommendations using a broad knowledge of HR practices on issues including (but not limited to): workforce planning, change management, talent acquisition, talent management and development, compensation, DEI, employee relations and employment law compliance. Partners with and provides guidance to supervisors and managers regarding performance management, performance improvement plans, progressive discipline and other employment practices; Operates with a high level of integrity and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. Champions the company culture, driving an environment of accountability, engagement, open communication, and high ethical standards. Serve as a liaison between management and employees handling questions, interpreting, and administering HR policy and resolving work-related employee relations matters. Mentors direct reports; provides guidance and resources to enable them to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently. Support onboarding/orientation training and development initiatives. Represent organization at employee-related hearings and investigations. Support employees with Leave of Absence (LOA) and Worker's Compensation activities. Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of HR and talent challenges and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's policies and practices. Support execution of Change initiatives, Change management and Employee Engagement. Identify solutions for hard to fill positions and understaffed departments, and provide guidance for recruitment activities. Assures compliance with all applicable laws and corporate policies/guidelines and identifies opportunities to develop and implement new practices/guidelines to achieve business goals. Ensures all HR administrative functions are handled in an accurate and timely manner. Operates with a sense of urgency and bias for action, reliably following through on deliverables and deadlines. Support pandemic management protocols and execution. Regular on-site attendance at company facility is required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of progressive HR Partnership/Generalist/Specialist or related experience; with at least 2 of those years in a leadership capacity Strong coaching skills and the ability to influence with and without authority; Confidence in autonomous decision making; Demonstrated ability to apply HR knowledge to resolve complex business Challenges Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in a variety of methods and platforms: oral, written, interpersonal, electronic and virtual Collaborative working style and team player attitude with ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization. Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong decision making, planning and problem-solving skillsPreferred: Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field PHR/SPHR or SHRM certification Working knowledge in a union environment A self-starter with ability to work well independently and as a leader, in teams and across functions Experience and knowledge of the marine industryJob Type: Full-timePay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per yearSchedule: Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
