Position Summary The Project Associate is an entry-level position in the Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for assisting Program and Project Managers organizing and delivering projects with the goal of completing them on-time and within budget. This is a highly collaborative, individual contributor role that interfaces with many internal departments. The ideal candidate for this role must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, exemplary communication, a service-oriented mindset, passion for excellence, and demonstrated ability to achieve results quickly with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Program and Project Managers throughout the HA Project lifecycle to achieve project objectives, meet timelines, and produce deliverables. Projects range from activity coordination to large-scale, enterprise capabilities deliveries
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, resource plans, expenditures, and other artifacts in coordination with the responsible Project Manager(s)
  • Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings; document meeting minutes and follow up on meeting risks, actions, issues, and decisions
  • Clearly communicate project-related activities and issues using a variety of formats (e.g. emails, presentations, status reports)
  • Execute major tasks and manage change to support the timely delivery and acceptance of project deliverables and PMO enhancements. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timelines are met
  • Identify and monitor risks and issues for mitigation, acceptance, or escalation to maintain project health
  • Offer solutions or paths forward when faced with roadblocks; collaborate with teammates to solve problems, identify alternatives, and forge a way forward as a team
  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders to foster team unity and progress towards common goals
  • Update content on Microsoft Project SharePoint/Teams sites for broad team alignment and conformance with the PMO Project Framework and recordkeeping standards
  • Acquire technical knowledge of the airline industry and project management methods through observation, active listening, research, and formal/informal training
  • Lead and/or support initiatives to enhance PMO frameworks, processes, services, and tools
  • Identify opportunities for cost-savings, process improvements, and organizational enhancements to increase PMO customer value and execute good financial stewardship as a member of the Finance 'Ohana (family)
  • Provide administrative support to PMO team as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • At least 1 year of experience working on a project team in an academic or professional environment; must have a basic understanding of project management concepts, techniques, tools, and methods that result in project performance improvements**Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.     • 3 years of professional experience working in a key project delivery role or as a coordinator
    • Familiarity with software and project delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Hybrid, SDLC.)
    • Knowledge or professional experience in Business Analysis, Data and Analytics, and/or Process Modeling or Improvement
