purpose andobjective: Will develop, nurture and grow a companywide
culture of Mau--(the perpetuation of well-being) SUSTAINABILITY
through a comprehensive andgoal-directed program focused on
managing strategic responsibilities such asplanning, organizing and
directing efforts to advance the sustainabilitypractices at Kualoa
Ranch. Thisposition will also be responsible for driving both
internal and externalcommunication efforts of established
sustainability dashboards, as well asparticipate in outreach and
community engagement efforts. Main responsibilities of theposition:
(subject to change) SUSTAINABILITY - Responsible for developing and
leadingKualoa's sustainability strategies, programs and initiatives
by establishingand managing long-term goals and best practices
including those outlined by the Hawaii Green GrowthInitiative ;
identifying and assessing areas of environmentalimpact and
potential improvement; and researching viable, economicallyfeasible
resources and creative solutions as they pertain to buildings,
fuel,waste, water, pollution, renewable energy, natural resource
conservation,agriculture, etc. - Implements innovative
sustainabilityprinciples and practices into all aspects of the
company's operations throughrelated general project management, and
the establishment and leadership ofcross-functional teams to carry
out sustainability initiatives. Establish andpromote creative
strategies to engage Kualoa's employee base and to establisha
culture of sustainability. - Analyzes the company's
sustainabilityperformance by e stablishing andmanaging long-term
strategies, goals, and Key Performance Indicators;measures and
audits quantifiable data including internal and externalstakeholder
engagement; interprets and develops reports; and adjusts
programsfor improved efficacy PUBLIC OUTREACH - Acts as the
representative of Kualoa'ssustainability initiatives to internal
and external partners andorganizations by developing collaborations
with community, industry, and public/regulatoryoffices; as sess
requests forinformation and coordinating responses. - Engage with
community partners and performgeneral public outreach through
various channels including but not limited topublic meetings, new
partnerships/collaborations and volunteer opportunities. - Enhance
company's community engagement throughhosting of educational
programs and student interaction - Serve as a public voice of
sustainability in thelocal community as well as tourism partners
(HTA, Hawaii Green Growth, TheLong Run, Sustainable Tourism
Association of Hawaii, etc) COMMUNICATION - Possess strong verbal &
writtencommunication skills with an ability to speak with all
levels of staff anddiverse communities - Create professional
communication documents(e.g. annual reports, newsletters, press
releases) documenting company'ssustainability accomplishments for
internal & external communication - Identify strategic
opportunities to enhance socialmedia presence (and other
audiovisual communication) as it relates tosustainability stories
and engagement
Communicate and promote sustainability conceptswithin the company
in order to foster an exciting, companywide culture of
sustainability (participation in meetings, informational flyers,
etc) Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills;
critical and interpretive thinking;ability to collaborate with
different committees, organizations, and audiences;demonstrated
project management/multi-tasking competence,
problem-solvingability; and self-directed performer. Open
availability to include weekends and holidays. Valid driver's
license and good drivingrecord. Great customer service
