Job Description:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the CEO and will be
responsible for the overall financial management of Manoa
Botanicals, LLC. This includes the day-to-day responsibility for
planning, implementing, and managing all financial-related
activities. This will include responsibility for accounting,
finance, forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, payroll, and
financing. Works collaboratively with the Executive Team to
identify opportunities to increase the value of Noa Botanicals.
Drives the Company's yearly and long-term business planning
process, conducts analysis, and provides strategic financial advice
on the overall direction of the Company. As an entrepreneurial
company, this person will need to be a "roll up your sleeves
individual" collaborating with individuals at all levels of the
organization.Operating as the largest licensee on O'ahu, with three
dispensary locations & a full production center, we know how to

As a vertically integrated medicinal facility, we are gearing up
for the day Hawai'i becomes a recreational use state, which will
result in explosive growth opportunities.As a true business partner
to the CEO, the CFO will assist in the company strategy and raising
capital, develop financial forecasts/reporting as well as develop
tools and systems to provide critical financial/operational
information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on
strategy, operations, and expansion.CORE JOB DUTIES (includes but
not limited to)
- Represent the company to financial partners, including
financial institutions, investors, auditors, public officials,
etc.
- Develop and lead financial strategy, goals, and objectives
- Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic
initiatives, operating model, and operational execution
- Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports;
monthly profit and loss forecast; weekly cash flow forecast
- Oversee cash flow planning, ensure availability of funds as
needed, and optimize cash position. Manage cash flow providing
short and long-term cash flow planning
- Review all month-end closing activities including general
ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and
corporate/overhead cost allocation
- Direct and maintain responsibility for the financial function
of the organization, acting as the strategic business advisor
including any contracts into which the company may enter
- Maintain the integrity of the organization's financial
practices, ensuring compliance with financial institutions,
auditors, and government agencies, including State of Hawaii
Department of Health
- Evaluate the structure, tools, and processes of the finance
group and identify needed changes or professional development
opportunities to enable future success of the organization
- Perform timely financial analyses to provide input on business
transactions and strategic planning initiatives. Requires creating
profitability and cost-benefit analysis reports as well as
evaluating possible merger or acquisitions
- Other duties as needed when operating as a resourceful,
entrepreneurial organizationCORE COMPETENCIES
- Experience in presenting to investors and raising capital
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including an
understanding of GAAP, tax requirements of governmental agencies,
and general auditing procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able
to provide clear, precise, and well-substantiated explanations of
financial events and trends, and establish credibility with peers,
the CEO, and BOD
- Experience working in a complex inventory environment
- Possess the highest level of confidentiality and integrity, a
trusted advisor with a strong work ethic and resilient
mentality
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative
environment Requirements EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of State of Hawai'i laws, regulations and
rules related to medical marijuana
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company
regulations for working in the cannabis industry
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field or
equivalent work experience
- MBA, CPA, CFA, M&A or Big 4 experience preferred
- 10+ years of progressive responsibility in financial leadership
roles
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Must pass DOH clearance and fingerprinting, per applicable
requirements set forth under state statute
- Years of experience with large corporate structures, and
entrepreneurial endeavors
- Cannabis industry experience preferred
- Demonstrated success in any of the following positions: CFO, VP
Finance, or other Senior level finance positions responsible for
the duties listed in this job descriptionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
