Job Description:
The Manager of Facilities Design manages and controls the planning,
organization, and execution of space management and utilization
throughout The Queen's Health Systems, and will also be responsible
for design and construction management of The Queen's Health
System's capital projects in accordance with corporate standards,
schedules and budgets that meet the requirements of User groups. -
Candidate works collaboratively with QHS leadership and staff to
define space needs and manage moves; tracks occupancy information
including changes to floor plans and uploading of drawings to the
management system; updates QHS space standards based on national
standards, Joint Commission and federal reimbursement requirements,
and customized to meet QHS specific requirements; works
collaboratively and directs external design consultants and sales
representative, etc. to ensure project objectives are met. -
Develops annual and capital budgets, and manages resources to
operate within approved budget. -Ideal candidate should engineering
degree with space planning experience, project management
experience, and knowledge of ADA, HIPAA and applicable building
codes. - Verbal and written communication skills - must be strong.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Project) required; proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD
is desirable.
Responsibilities

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- - Oversees, directs, and manages the planning, organization,
control, and execution of space management and utilization
throughout The Queen's Health Systems (QHS). -
--- - Serves as a consultant to executive and management staff in
space utilization projects and initiatives. -
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
--- - Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
--- - Continuous: - - sitting, static gripping of an object for
prolonged periods.
--- - Frequent: walking
--- - Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs and
ladders, walking on uneven ground, crawling, lifting and carrying
usual weight of 1 pound up to 25 pounds, reaching above, at and
below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object. -
--- - Operates a computer, calculator, telephone, fax and
printer.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
--- - Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental
conditions. -
--- - Access to vehicle as travel to work sites involved.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. - EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
--- - Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
or five (5) years progressively responsible experience in space
planning or design may be substituted for education
requirement.
--- - Valid U.S. driver''''s license required in accordance with HI
State law rules and regulations and/or access to use of an
automobile.
--- - Driver''''s abstract or evidence of good driving record
required.
--- - Ability to meet and comply with qualifications set forth in
QMC Fleet Safety Policy.
B. - EXPERIENCE:
--- - In addition to the education requirement, five (5) years
experience in space planning, preferably in a comparable
organization.
--- - Two (2) years supervisory or leadership experience.
--- - Experience to demonstrate the following:
- - - - o - Prior project management experience.
- - - - o - Knowledge of ADA, HIPAA and applicable building
codes.
- - - - o - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- - - - o - Ability to create clear and concise presentations,
including knowledge of design and graphic presentations.
- - - - o - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Microsoft Project and other related
software. - Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD is desirable.
