CDM Smiths Federal Services Unit (FSU) Water and Facilities (WAF)
Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project
Manager to serve as a Senior Project Manager (Sr PM), a key role in
our federal WAF portfolio. Through effective leadership and
teamwork, the Sr PM will serve to successfully deliver projects and
client service while expanding geographic coverage for our Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Risk Mapping, Assessment, and
Planning (Risk MAP) Production and Technical Services (PTS) work,
as well as our Cooperating Technical Partner (CTP) work.
**We are flexible regarding the location of this position in the
continental US, but would prefer someone located in one of the
following locations: Dallas TX, Austin TX, Atlanta GA, Kansas City
MO, Chicago IL, or Fairfax VA.**
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
Planning, developing, coordinating, and directing multiple FEMA
Risk MAP and similar projects concurrently.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a FEMA Badge, which
includes a background investigation for a Public Trust
position.
Estimating resource needs and scheduling and assigning work to meet
project milestone dates.
Identifying, quantifying, and communicating potential project risk
and mitigation solutions.
Managing project change using change management protocols;
determining appropriate changes or alternate paths and
communicating them appropriately.
Ensuring client satisfaction by delivering quality, on-time project
outcomes as a result of good planning and organizational skills;
managing client expectations.
Initiating and maintaining relationships with multiple clients to
understand their needs and match with CDM Smith capabilities to
support revenue growth and support future sales initiatives through
close coordination with the Water and Facilities sales team.
Supporting the direct marketing and proposal/pricing development
for FEMA Risk MAP PTS, CTP, and other similar related opportunities
by working effectively with Client Service Leaders, Technical
Strategy Leaders, and project delivery teams to position, secure,
and deliver quality projects.
Mentoring and staff development including thorough high-quality
performance appraisals.
Active participation in relevant industry organizations, such as
ASFPM.
Lead monthly project management processes including Estimate to
Complete (ETC), Estimate at Complete (EAC), and revenue
recognition.
Lead and support efforts to integrate improved resource management
(e.g., implementation of resource-loaded scheduling capabilities
and practices).

**Minimum Qualifications:**
Bachelor's Degree.
10 years of related experience.
PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months
of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency
of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and
the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending
on workload and project demands.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be
considered in lieu of a degree.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, planning,
geography, or related field.
Previous experience managing floodplain studies and similar
projects for the federal government, strongly preferred.
Strong demonstrated project management skills, with experience in
organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through
closeout, involving internal personnel and subcontractors.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Computer proficient, including the Microsoft Office suite.
Business development skills and experience such as client
engagement and proposal preparation.
Understanding of scheduling concepts and familiarity with software
such as Primavera P6 or equivalent.

**Skills and Abilities:**

Experience working with project management methodology including
budget development, project planning, control and assurance
methodologies, project management software and finance and
accounting concepts and practices.
Demonstrates good communications skills, both verbal and
written.
Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies,
risks and opportunities. Work requires verbal skills, ability to
interact with varying levels of staff, as well as vendors.
Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with
team members and clients.
Ability to deal with many people and process a large volume of
requests as necessary.
Good personal computer skills including advanced knowledge in the
use of MS Word and Excel.
Demonstrates organizational skills to balance and prioritize
work.
**Background Check and Drug Testing Information:**
CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter
