GENERAL STATEMENT: The Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian
Church, and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual,
emotional, and physical regeneration of all people.

KROC CENTER HAWAII VISION: Kroc Center Hawaii will be a dynamic and
flourishing gathering place for diverse community; where all are
welcomed, inspired, and transformed through the love of Christ.
RELIGIOUS SUMMARY: Although this position does not require or
confer ordination, this is a "ministry position." Only Christians
with a demonstrated strong personal faith and agreement with the
teaching of Holy Scripture as explained in The Salvation Army
"Articles of War" and the "Handbook of Doctrine" will be considered
for this position. Maintaining a lifestyle and witness consistent
with the above stated documents is required for continued
employment.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Worship & Outreach Manager will be
responsible for developing and leading the worship experience for
Kroc Church, in consultation with the Corps Officer and other
Congregational Life team members, in a way that is consistent with
the mission, values, and theology of The Salvation Army Kroc Center
Hawaii. The Worship & Outreach Manager is responsible for training
and shepherding worship team members, overseeing worship services,
and all aspects of audio-visual systems & staff.
The Worship & Outreach Manager is also responsible for identifying,
developing, coordinating, and scheduling community outreach
opportunities and activities that will deepen the connection of the
Kroc Church with the overall Kroc Center and surrounding
communities. The person in this position should possess a heart for
outreach and have an ability to work with marginalized populations
in a kind and respectful manner, maintaining the dignity and worth
of each individual served. The Worship & Outreach Manager must
possess a deep love for the Lord, a desire to grow in his/her
relationship with Christ, and to be held accountable in this
position. He/she will have a deep commitment to the mission of The
Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional
life and the manner in which he or she represents The Salvation
Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
He/she must be able to thrive, working ina team ministry
environment. This person needs to be of strong character and will
have the ability to work with and to develop leaders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. AA Degree in relevant field (e.g. theology, biblical studies,
business administration, religious studies, human services, music),
or equivalent experience of 2+ years in church ministry or on a
church staff.
2. Experience in leading worship services in addition to playing a
musical instrument, as needed.3. Basic understanding of
audio-visual systems.4. Experience in working with children,
parents, church visitors/attenders/members, volunteers, and staff
in a capacity of leadership, counseling, and education.5. Maintain
a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.6.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.7. Strong
motivational and management skills.8. Have valid driver's license
and insured transportation.9. Must be at least 21 years old.10.
Certification by and participation in The Salvation Army's Fleet
Safety Program on an annual basis.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:1. Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g.
theology, biblical studies, business administration, religious
studies, human services, or music).2. Ability to play guitar or
piano while leading praise & worship.3. Active uniform wearing
Salvationist in good standing.4. Experience with planning,
implementing, and leading programs at the Corps and Divisional
level.5. Familiarity with traditional Salvation Army programs at
the Corps and Divisional level.6. Familiarity with Hawaii and local
culture.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Ability to effectively understand, reflect,
communicate the Christian principles, mission, goals, and strengths
of The Salvation Army Kroc Center and Church.2. Become a Kroc
Church member, attend and support church worship services,
programs, and activities on a regular basis.3. Ability to relate
well and work with anyone regardless of age, social, economic,
religious, or cultural background.
WORSHIP SERVICES:4. Overall leadership and "Producer" of weekend
Worship Services, including but not limited to, pre-weekend Worship
Service preparations (e.g. close coordination withworship team and
Corps Officers in planning of services. Lead pre-service team
huddle to pray with and encourage serve team members prior to the
start of worship services.5. In collaboration with the Corps
Officers and Congregational Leaders, assist with the selection of
songs and arrangements for worship services that convey the
gospelmessage. This includes Sunday worship and all other services
scheduled.6. Promote a comprehensive worship atmosphere through
music selection and other creative and visual aspects to enhance
and encourage the worship experience.
WORSHIP TEAMS:1. Empower and encourage instrumentalists, vocalists,
and production team members.2. Ensure that teams are provided with
necessary resources and prepared to serve in all worship
experiences.3. Shepherd staff and volunteers serving in the music
and creative ministries of the Kroc Church.4. Lead worship, as
needed, for worship services, special services, and outreach
events.5. Coordinate resources and personnel for worship teams and
services.
AUDIO VISUAL:1. Oversee all AVL needs of Kroc Church to include
supervision of A/V and multimedia staff and volunteers.
OUTREACH:1. Will lead and/or oversee outreach programs, events, and
volunteers to firstly reach Kroc Center members, and then into the
overall community.2. Explore and develop new strategies for
outreach through Kroc Center and Church ministries.3. Work with
existing Kroc Church ministry leaders to identify opportunities to
provide outreach to Kroc Center and overall community.4. In
conjunction with other Ministry Team members, launch local mission
projects that invite new people into the life and ministry of The
Salvation Army Kroc Church.5. Provide opportunities for outreach
training for the congregational members.
OTHER AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:1. Serve on and lead the worship
planning committee for the Kroc Church.2. Attend regular meetings
with the Kroc Congregational Life Team.3. Attend, promote and
assist with Divisional and Territorial events as directed.4.
Compile all necessary statistics for activities monthly.5. Follow
and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and
Procedures.6. Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The position requires sitting; climbing and/or
balancing; stooping, kneeling, bending, stretching, crouching
and/or crawling; standing; walking; manual dexterity and eye-hand
coordination; use of vision; driving a vehicle;
pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying 25-50 pounds and occasionally more
than 50 pounds; traveling by airplane. This employee will also be
required to work weekends and evenings.

EQUIPMENT NEEDS:Equipment used includes general office equipment

10-key calculator, and automobile.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT:Most work will be indoors at the
Kroc Center. There will also be times where this employee will be
outdoors at various programs, events, and outreach projects.
Attendance at trainings and conferences, both in Hawaii and on the
mainland, may be required. Extensive travel is possible, including
air travel, driving long distances, night driving, overnight
travel, and extended travel of three days or more.
NOTES:* Must have a valid driver's license and insured
transportation.* Will require a criminal history information check.
