Job Description:
Responsibilities I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: ---
Responsible for coordinating / overseeing activities required to
maintain Magnet designation and ensures ongoing compliance with
ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) Magnet standards. ---
Facilitates efforts to build a culture that continually reflects
the Magnet Program requirements and promotes the advancement of
nursing excellence. --- Leads completion of all aspects of the
Magnet application, re-designation evidence submission, and interim
reports. II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: --- Essential: seeing,
hearing, speaking, static gripping of an object for prolonged
periods. --- Frequent: standing, sitting, walking, lifting and
carrying usual weight of 2 pounds, reaching above, at and below
shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions. --- Occasional:
stooping/bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven
ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, frequent
gripping of an object. --- Operates computer, telephone, copier,
facsimile, typewriter; cellular, pager, and other office type
equipment. III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: --- Not substantially
subjected to adverse environmental conditions. --- Exposed to
communicable diseases and bodily fluids. --- May be subjected to
emotionally charged situations which may compromise physical
safety. IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND
LICENSURE: --- Bachelor---s degree in Nursing. --- Master---s
degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Hospital Administration
or related health care or professional field preferred. --- Current
Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse. B. EXPERIENCE: ---
Three (3) years acute care nursing experience. --- One (1) year
experience in program development; proven administrative and
teaching skills. --- Experience in nursing leadership activities
including professional practice and outcomes improvement activities
and management of organizational change. --- Experience to
demonstrate: o In-depth understanding of Magnet sources of evidence
and Magnet program requirements preferred. o Strong interpersonal,
oral and written communication skills. o Ability to serve as a
change agent. o Strong project management skills. o Proficiency
with Microsoft Office, i.e., PowerPoint, Word, Excel with ability
to perform data gathering and analysis for presentations. Equal
