Responsibilities I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:--- - Prepares and performs ultrasound examinations on patients. - Collaborates with physicians on examinations.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:--- - Essential: walking, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking; reaching above and at shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object. ---- - Continuous: sitting, reaching below shoulder level. ---- - Frequent: standing, stooping/bending, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds.--- - Occasional: sitting, kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.--- - Operates ultrasound equipment and computer.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:--- - Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.--- - Must be able to adjust schedule for "on-call" coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. - EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:--- - Graduate of a CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) approved school of Ultrasound Technology or other approved program as determined by the department; or registered Radiologic Technologist with two (2) years supervised work/training in diagnostic ultrasound.--- - Registered by ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) in Abdomen and OB/GYN sonography. - If only registered in one (1) certification upon hire, must obtain the other certification within twenty-four (24) months of entrance into the position.--- - Current BLS/HCP certification.B. - EXPERIENCE:--- - Prior recent experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer in acute health care facility preferred.
