RESPONSIBILITIESEffective Date: 10/18I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:--- Provides patient care and performs procedures in the Cardiac Service Line Departments.--- Diagnoses and recommends treatment options to referring physicians.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:--- Essential: standing, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing; lifting and pushing/pulling usual weight of 50 pounds; carrying usual weight of 10 pounds; reaching above, at and below shoulder level; repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping on an object.--- Frequent: walking, speaking.--- Occasional: stopping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body.--- Operates various office/radiographic/hospital equipment.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:--- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.--- Exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious agents is an occupational risk; therefore, standard safety regulations must be maintained to avoid contamination.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:--- Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or EC FMG certification.--- Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease or board certified within two (2) years of hire date.--- Meets qualification in appropriate area of specialization:o Invasive Cardiology:? Board certified in Interventional Cardiology or board certified within two (2) years of hire date? Fellowship trained in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases.? BLS and ACLS certification.o ECHO:? Level 2 ECHO training; board certified in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography or board certified within two (2) years of hire date.? Fellowship trained in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases.? BLS and ACLS certification.o Nuclear Cardiology:? Board certified in Nuclear Cardiology.? Fellowship trained in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases.? BLS and ACLS certification.o CMR/Cardiac CT:? Fellowship trained in CMR and Cardiac CT.? Fellowship trained in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases.? BLS and ACLS certification.o Electrophysiology (EP):? Board certified in EP or board certified within (2) two years of hire date.? Fellowship trained in Adult Cardiovascular Diseases.? Satisfactory completion of EP training program.? BLS and ACLS certification.o Pediatric Cardiology:? Fellowship trained in Pediatric Cardiovascular Diseases.? BLS and PALS certification.--- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.B. EXPERIENCE:--- During the period of employment, shall be and remain a member of the QMC medical staff in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.--- Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.Addendum to all Physician Job Descriptions for The Queen's Medical Center and The Queen's Health SystemEffective December, 2019, the previous requirement involving cardio pulmonary resuscitation training for physicians, such as Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is no longer in effect.
