Job Description:
Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, develops, implements and administers cardiac services in
collaboration with the Medical Director and Director of Cardiac
Services.
Develops, establishes and/or monitors plans and activities for
designated Cardiology Clinical Programs consistent with the
mission, vision, and philosophy of the organization and to
ensure:
o Delivery of high-quality patient care and services
o Effective planning and coordination of resources
o Compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
o Achievement of program goals and objectives
o Staff education and training
Participates in the long-term planning of assigned Cardiology
Clinical Programs through partnership with the programs Medical
Director
Analyzes, interprets, and converts clinical data into actionable
information.
Assists in developing programmatic performance targets and deploys
initiatives to assist the cardiology programs to meet those
outcomes.
Facilitates achievement of goals through coordinating program
development efforts in cardiovascular clinical care, research, and
education.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: All required, designated by
frequency.
Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, standing,
sitting, walking, reaching above, at and below shoulder, frequent
gripping of an object.
Frequent: pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force,
carrying usual weight of 10 pounds up to 15 pounds, repetitive
arm/hand motions.
Occasional: stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven
ground, squatting, twisting body, lifting maximum weight of 50
pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, and carrying
weight up to 20 pounds.
Operates physiological monitoring equipment, electric beds,
computer, telephone, printer, copier, scanning, fax machine and
other business office machines.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Not subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
Subjected to alarms (electronic monitoring and bio-medical life
support equipment).
May be exposed to communicable disease and body fluids, sharps and
chemicals.
May be required to deal with hostile patients and/or families.
Working environment is fast paced and may be stressful.
Frequently works on multiple tasks and priorities at one time.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Current Hawaii State license as a Registered Nurse.
Bachelors degree in Nursing.
Masters degree preferred.
Current BLS-HCP certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) years acute care or ambulatory nursing experience,
preferably in cardiology.
One (1) year program planning, development, coordination, or
leadership experience.
Experience in program development; proven administrative and
teaching skills.
