RESPONSIBILITIESI. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:Coordinates and
facilitates peer review and performance improvement activities for
the Medical Staff in accordance with the mission of The Queens
Health Systems (QHS). Plans, coordinates, and implements production
of reports for the medical staff reappointment process. Plans and
coordinates activities of the Clinical Performance Improvement
Committee (CPIC). Facilitates revisions to the Peer Review and CPIC
Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Serves as a resource regarding
peer review, performance improvement and medical staff profiles.
Meets requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies.II.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Essential: sitting, stooping/bending,
finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking. Occasional: standing,
walking, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting, pushing/pulling and
carrying usual weight of 10 pounds, reaching above, at and below
shoulder level. Operates computer, copier, facsimile, and
telephone.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Not substantially
subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Work environment may
be stressful due to workload.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A.
Education/Certification and Licensure:
- Bachelor's degree in science or related field required.
- Master's degree in nursing, social science, or health related
field preferred.B. Experience:
- Two years recent medical staff peer review and performance
improvement experience in healthcare facility required.
- Demonstrated written, verbal, and instruction skills
- Computer knowledge (word processing, spreadsheets, E-mail,
databases, systems) required.
- Two years experience pertaining to medical staff
credentialing/reappointment and/or peer review preferred.Equal
