Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Cardiovascular Technologist Duration: Full Time Shift: Variable Shifts Hours per Shift: Guaranteed Hours Not Specified Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Board registration by ARDMS or CCI in cardiac or vascular sonography required Certifications: Current BLS certification Must-Have: Registration must be obtained within twelve (12) months of entering the position if not registered upon hire. Description: Prepares and performs echocardiographic and vascular examinations on patients. Collaborates with physicians on examinations. Typical physical demands include: Finger dexterity, seeing, and hearing. Continuous reaching at shoulder level. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and speaking. Occasional stooping/bending, squatting, reaching above and below shoulder level, and lifting usual weight of 50 pounds. Pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force. Repetitive arm/hand motion and static gripping of objects for prolonged periods. Typical working conditions involve: Inside environmental conditions (i.e., low light setting). Noise/vibration from ultrasound transducers. Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids. Prior recent experience as a cardiac and/or vascular sonographer in an acute healthcare facility is preferred.
