The Chief of Pathology/Laboratory Director reports directly to the
Chief of Staff and is responsible for leading, planning, and
managing the Laboratory service line across the VA PIHCS catchment
area. Key duties include overseeing Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
operations, ensuring quality outcomes and patient safety, and
participating in quality control and management. The role involves
strategic planning, budget and fiscal management, and program
development. The Chief maintains a clinical workload and
collaborates with partners to meet performance measures and deliver
