Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking dedicated and
disciplined professionals to join our team as Correctional
Officers. This role is pivotal in maintaining security and ensuring
the humane treatment of inmates within federal correctional
facilities. As a Correctional Officer, you will be entrusted with
the supervision, care, and correctional treatment of inmates. This
position demands a high level of vigilance, integrity, and respect

rehabilitation. Maintain security and control of the institution
through supervision, observation, and monitoring of inmate
activities and interactions. Enforce rules, regulations, and
procedures of the facility to ensure the safety and security of
staff, inmates, and the public. Conduct regular inspections of all
assigned areas within the institution for safety, security, and
contraband detection. Escort inmates within the facility and
outside as required for medical or legal appointments, transfers,
and other activities. Respond to emergencies, such as fights or
riots, in a calm, efficient, and effective manner. Participate in
rehabilitation and counseling of inmates, providing support for
educational and vocational training programs. Keep accurate records
of inmate conduct and any incidents that occur under supervision.

Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA) after hiring is
