Job Description The Chief Nurse Executive is a seasoned nursing
leader with advanced experience in clinical operations, a strong
background in inpatient rehabilitation or acute?care settings, and
a demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams. Position Overview
Hawaii’s leading inpatient rehabilitation provider seeks an
experienced nursing executive to guide all nursing services for a
mission?driven, patient?centered hospital specializing in complex
rehabilitation care. This organization is known for excellence in

in compassion, integrity, and community impact. The Chief Nurse
Executive serves on the executive leadership team, shaping clinical
strategy, elevating care standards, and ensuring an exceptional
patient experience across the hospital’s 24/7 nursing operations.
Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for all nursing
services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and clinical
excellence. Oversee nursing operations including quality of care,
patient safety initiatives, and compliance with regulatory and
accreditation standards. Lead development and implementation of
nursing policies, clinical protocols, staffing models, and
performance improvement programs. Partner with hospital executives
on long?range planning, budgeting, and operational decision?making.
Manage departmental budgets, monitor fiscal performance, and
steward resources effectively. Develop and mentor nursing leaders
and staff; promote strong communication, ongoing training, and a
positive workplace culture. Lead cross?functional collaboration to
resolve operational challenges and support patient?centered
rehabilitation care. Establish KPIs and performance benchmarks tied
to organizational strategy and quality outcomes. Skills
Executive?level nursing leadership with strong operational and
strategic capability. Expertise in inpatient rehabilitation (IRF)
or acute?care environments, including quality and regulatory
oversight. Ability to build high?performing teams, develop leaders,
and strengthen clinical workforce engagement. Strong financial
acumen, including budget management and analysis of departmental
performance metrics. Excellent communication and collaboration
skills across interdisciplinary teams. Proficiency with healthcare
technology platforms Strength in change management,
problem?solving, and driving continuous improvement. Requirements
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the U.S.; eligibility for
Hawai‘i RN licensure required. Minimum 7 years of healthcare
administrative experience in an IRF or acute?care setting. At least
5 years in a senior leadership role and 3 years of experience
directly leading staff. Master’s degree in healthcare
administration or a health?related field OR Bachelor’s degree in
Nursing with 10 years of healthcare administration experience (IRF
or acute?care). Current ACLS, BLS, and CPR certifications.
Experience with Google Workspace, report-writing software, and
clinical/operational database systems.
