registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience
required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not
be considered. A registered nurse with experience in stepdown care
is needed for a contract assignment in Volcano, HI. This role
involves working in a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) with a 32-bed
capacity, supporting patients requiring close monitoring and varied
nursing interventions. Flexibility with shifts and hours is
essential, as schedules and shift lengths will vary with no
guaranteed preference. Key Responsibilities: - Provide high-quality
nursing care utilizing equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound
vac systems, chest tubes, tube feeding (NG/G-Tubes), tracheostomy
care, and PICC/PORT management. - Deliver patient care in a
multidisciplinary team environment, including floating to
Medical-Surgical and Surgical Pediatric units when needed. - Adhere
to professional nursing standards, including maintaining a
professional dress code. - Attend a thorough orientation program
tailored to the specific unit to ensure full competency.
Qualifications and Experience: - Current registered nurse license
for the State of Hawaii is required prior to assignment start. -
BLS certification is mandatory; ACLS certification is not required
unless specified by the agency. - A minimum of 2 years and up to 10
years of relevant nursing experience in stepdown or similar acute
care settings. - Must provide proof of flu vaccination or a
facility-approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.
Schedule and Contract Details: - Contract length: 13 weeks. -
Scheduled for approximately 36 hours per week after the initial
orientation week. - Shifts will vary in length and time, requiring
flexibility. - Arrival is required the Thursday before the start
date for an employee health appointment. Location Insight:Volcano,
