care in a stepdown unit within a well-respected healthcare setting
in Keaau, HI. This 13-week contract position offers the opportunity
to work in a dynamic environment caring for patients requiring
close monitoring and varied medical interventions. Flexibility is
essential, as shifts vary in length and days, with an expected 36
hours per week after the initial orientation. Location
Overview:Keaau offers a serene and tropical lifestyle on the Big
Island of Hawaii, with beautiful landscapes, lush greenery, and a
warm climate year-round. The community provides a unique blend of

volcanic parks, and coastal views, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive nursing care for a
32-bed Transitional Care Unit (TCU) with patient ratios of 1:8 (day
and night) supported by nursing aides. - Utilize equipment
including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding
(NG/G-Tubes), tracheostomy care, and PICC/PORT maintenance. -
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety
and optimal health outcomes. - Float between Med Surg and Surgical
Pediatrics units as needed. - Adhere to professional nursing attire
and departmental policies. - Complete designated orientation and
training programs before starting patient care duties.
Qualifications and Experience: - Hold an active Registered Nurse
license for the State of Hawaii by the assignment start date;
travel nurses must obtain this promptly after acceptance. -
Maintain current BLS certification; ACLS preferred but not
mandatory unless required by agency. - Possess 2 to 10 years of
relevant nursing experience. - Provide proof of flu vaccination or
a valid medical/religious exemption prior to contract start. Flu
shots are available during employee health clearance. -
Availability to arrive the Thursday prior to the start date for
required health appointments. Additional Details: - Flexible
scheduling with no guaranteed shift preferences or hours. -
Orientation provided to ensure smooth transition into the role. -
Equipment and technology training included. This contract

Compensation for this position ranges from $26.59 to $50.00.
