Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively. Responsibilities Summary of Duties: Cleans lodging guest rooms, suites and common areas. Maintains speed and efficiency to meet productivity standards. Makes beds, changes sheets, towels, and other linens and terry. Thoroughly cleans guest room to include dusting, waxing and polishing furniture, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming rugs, emptying wastebaskets, and cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including showers, bathtubs, commodes and sinks. Cleans and sanitizes guest room kitchens and kitchen equipment to include refrigerators, ovens and cabinets. Using a ladder, washes ceiling and light fixtures, windows and dusts drapes and blinds. Removes scuffs and marks from walls. Sanitizes all fixtures and bedding with disinfectant, and replenishes guest supplies such as soaps, toiletries, drinking cups, coffee and tea, etc. Arranges furniture and guest supplies in a neat and orderly fashion as directed. Empties vacuum cleaners as required. Maintains a clean and organized housekeeping cart. Maintains close control over issued master keys and maintains guest security and privacy at all times. Periodically rotates mattresses as directed. Periodically conducts deep cleaning. Initiates work requests to Maintenance team or leads as needed. Reports missing or broken articles to supervisor. May be required to move furniture to clean underneath. Collects lost or left behind items in vacant guest rooms and turns into facility lost and found as per required procedure. Maintains a detailed perspective about cleanliness throughout the facility. May be scheduled for Saturday and Sunday work and servicing of pet friendly rooms. Requires valid drivers license. Provides Meaningful Connections through Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of proper uses of a variety of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions and ability to remove different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces. Ability to read and understand directions on labels and printed instructions. Responsibility: Manager/Supervisor/Leads provide general direction on common and recurring duties and incumbent performs these duties independently. Specific and detailed instructions are provided on new or complex assignments. Work is spot checked and/or inspected to adherence to instructions, completeness, quantity and quality for our guest needs. Cleanliness is a top priority. Physical Effort: Work requires constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of objects. Climbs ladders and operates industrial equipment. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Push and/or pull service cart over 100 lbs. Working Conditions: Work is normally performed indoors under normal conditions. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment, strong odors and skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions.
