\n \n\n \n POSITION TITLE: Cook STATUS: Non-Exempt LOCATION: Food
Solutions ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Plans for the day by preparing
and gathering all items necessary for cooking food products in
large quantities, in advance 2. Cooks such products in accordance
with prescribed recipes and procedures to meet U.S.D.A.
requirements, using a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment,
such as 200-gallon and 300-gallon pressure kettles 3. Pans and bags
food products for delivery to the stores or wholesale and retail
accounts, using a variety of bagging systems 4. Processes bagged
foods through a quick chill system to cool products for
refrigerated storage 5. Cleans and washes kettles and other
equipment after cooking. Follows U.S.D.A. specifications when
cleaning and maintaining equipment and work area 6. May work in a
chill room to slice fish, chicken, pork and/or meats, raw and
cooked, for packing and delivery to units; may carve and portion
meats and specials for delivery OTHER FUNCTIONS: 1. May assist
loaders with the accurate gathering, labeling and wrapping of food
product 2. May assist utility personnel with overall clean up and
washing duties 3. Designated individuals may be responsible for the
accurate checking in of vendor deliveries and for storing products
in appropriate areas thereafter using a fork lift 4. Performs
various other duties in fulfilling assigned functions reflecting a
moderate level of cooking skills and knowledge QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Scheduling: - Available for work on any day of the week, 5:00 a.m.
to 8:30 p.m. 2. Physical Ability: - Force: Ability to lift 50-75
pounds regularly with or without the help of a co-worker -
Repetitive movement: wrist and hand motions, coordination, standing
and/or walking up to 8 hours; reaching, bending and squatting,
pushing and puling, regularly - Sensory: good hearing and sight to
safely work in a production plant environment 3. Mental Ability -
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of
measure; use whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, read and
comprehend instructions - Must be able to read and comprehend
English, as all recipes and HAZCOM information will be in the
English language 4. Pre-Employment Requirements: - Must pass
pre-employment physical and drug screening - Must also have passed
a TB test within 2 years of start date with skin test or 5 years of
start date with chest x-ray test 5. Environmental Conditions: -
Tolerance for temperature extremes from a hot kitchen to chill
and/or frozen rooms 6. Education: - None 7. Experience - Work
experience or potential for working in a plant or factory
environment (repetitious work assignments, handling portion control
systems, etc.) - Operator's certificate in the operation of a fork
lift , or willingness to be trained on this equipment if selected
to carry additional responsibilities for receiving and storing away
deliveries 8. Desired Skills: - None 9. Desired Attributes -
