Responsibilities
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and manages all aspects of the Communications
Technologies department, ensuring optimal performance, 24x7 support
and availability to meet defined service levels.
- Works closely with other IT teams, departmental management and
vendors on project planning, systems maintenance and monitoring,
and ensuring that service issues and root cause analysis are
addressed.
- Responsible for quality of all communication technology
activities and deliverables, regular communication and status
updates, and facilitation of IT processes as needed.
- Works with IT leadership to design and implement the
communications technologies strategy and ensure goals and
objectives support the overall strategic direction of the
organization.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending,
kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground;
squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing,
speaking, lifting usual weight of 15 pounds up to 50 pounds;
pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force; carrying usual weight of
15 pounds; reaching above, at, and below shoulder level; repetitive
arm/hand motions; static gripping of an object for prolonged
periods; frequent gripping of an object.
- Operates electronic test equipment, hand and power tools,
various office equipment.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental
conditions.
- Both inside and outside work.
- Exposure to high amounts of electrical currents, chemicals,
hazardous materials, communicable diseases, and body fluids.
Exposure to x-ray and laser radiation.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Bachelor's degree in business, information technology,
electronic technology/biomedical engineering or related field; or
four (4) years experience in information technology or
communications technology may be substituted for the educational
requirement.B. EXPERIENCE:
- In addition to the educational requirement, six (6) years
experience in communication technology planning, design and
operations, preferably in an acute care facility or integrated
healthcare delivery application system environment.
- Two (2) years management/supervisory experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the
ability to effectively interact and present to stakeholders at all
levels, including senior leadership.
- Ability to lead teams, gain consensus, and move teams towards a
shared vision.
- Excellent planning, organizational and time management
