Propulsion Controls Engineering’s (PCE) purpose is to provide
the highest quality services to meet the needs of our customers
while ensuring a safety and beneficial workplace for our employees.
PCE has a current opening for a Full-Time Superintendent , at our
Aiea, Hawaii location.
Serves as a member of the Production Management Team responsible
for Project management, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency
of Production Staff, product, and services while interacting
directly with contractor(s), customer, and staff as necessary to
ensure timely and cost-effective accomplishment of project and/or
Leads and manages through daily application of Ownership,
Responsibility and Accountability.
Integrates with management, trades, customers, subcontractors,
and vendors to ensure accomplishment of the assigned work
Attends production and progress meetings as required with
customer(s), providing accurate, up-to-date, and knowledgeable
status of assigned projects.
Effectively resolves all problems that cannot otherwise be
resolved by assigned craft supervision, as well as working with the
customer, subcontractors, and other departments to keep a minimum
of interferences and distractions from impacting the progression of
Ensures proper allocation of company resources (i.e., personnel,
materials, support services, etc.)
Performs daily tour of assigned project(s); periodic tours of
project(s) with Production Manager.
Monitors project(s) to ensure work scope, schedule are well
defined and maintained, keeping management apprised of overall
Assist with the development and tracking of all project
Condition Found Reports (CFR’s) and Inspection Deficiency Reports
Tracks contract changes to the project (RCC’s).
Reviews production progress, provides production status to the
Production Management Team.
Interfaces with all departments including Estimating, Quality
Assurance, Security, and Environmental Safety and Health (ESH).
Other duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
High School and/or advanced technical schooling preferred.
Experience and Knowledge:
Minimum of eight (8) years in ship repair/shipyard with related
experience as a successful trade supervisor.
Must possess an extensive knowledge of ship repair
specifications commensurate with ship-wide/multi-system repair
Possess and in-depth knowledge of associated trades (i.e.,
welder, outside/inside machinist, electrician, etc.)
Demonstrate a proven record (by progression) of positions
requiring problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and team-building
Ability to review financial statements, cost-reporting, and
other such data necessary to identify associated trends and
Ability to read and interpret Standard Drawings, Navy Standard
Items, and Navy Quality Management Systems.
Possess excellent communication skills; as both a listener and
when providing direction.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
