In this role, your responsibilities will include developing industrial automation programming solutions for HMIs and PLCs, conducting control system startups for industrial and municipal projects, and collaborating with client development teams with the goal of supporting proposal development. The role requires the ability to integrate and apply Brown and Caldwell's service offerings and talent to help our clients solve their most challenging issues. Primary responsibilities include:Develop automation programming for industrial projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clientsDeveloping control strategies that will be configured in the control systemManage, modify, develop, test, and startup PLC and HMI automation projectsPerform submittal reviews from contractors and system integratorsDevelop or expand upon design skills to prepare wiring schematics, network and control system architecture designs.Work and communicate effectively with other disciplines, task leaders, and project managersProduce effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandumsPerform in technical role for value engineering and QA/QC or review of sub-consultant workPosition Requirements:High school diploma or GED along with a minimum of 6 years of prior experience with a background that includes automation systems programming and implementation in government, municipal, and/or industrial water and wastewater industries.B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or other engineering degree relevant to process automation control system work is preferred.Experience in industrial process automation systems design, communications protocols (Modbus TCP/Profibus), instrumentation selection, or network design is preferredTravel away from the home office is anticipated given the nature of the programming responsibilities on Oahu, HIProficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and able to utilize these tools to communicate effectively and professionally.Comfortable adapting to new or unfamiliar technology platforms and systemsAble to multi-task, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and work independently with a willingness to learnCandidate should be a self-starter, results-oriented and be able to work under tight and pressured deadlinesComfortable and effective with clients and contractors as direct interfaceBenefits and Other Compensation: We provide a comprehensive benefits package that promotes employee health, performance, and success which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, an employee assistance program, paid time off and parental leave, paid holidays, 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match, performance-based bonus eligibility, employee referral bonuses, tuition reimbursement, pet insurance and long-term care insurance.
