Job Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Patient Care in planning, organizing, and directing of patient care services in accordance with current standards and regulations so that the highest degree of quality care will be maintained at all times. The Clinical Coordinator provides clinical support for team of assigned nurses . . Provides leadership and guidance at Team Meetings and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees . Confers and collaborates with appropriate team members in implementation of the treatment plan. Under the direction of the Director of Patient Care, the Clinical Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the hiring process; orientation of new employees, in-service training, and evaluation of qualified personnel for all disciplines involved in patient care services. This position coordinates Team Meetings and maintains knowledge specific to the needs of the unique patient populations. The Clinical Coordinator provides patient care as needed in times of staffing challenges due to illness, LOA, other emergent conditions. Other managerial tasks and projects may be assigned as necessary by Director of Patient Care. Qualifications: Education: BA/ BS Nursing or health related field or equivalent level of health professional certification strongly preferred. Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN Experience: Three years of professional experience in an acute or similar setting. Direct patient care experience within the past five years. Skills and Knowledge: Thorough understanding of behavioral health , Joint Commission, CMS requirements, QI outcomes/benchmarking, infection control; good understanding of reimbursement patterns for payor mix . Demonstrated skills in engaging with staff and managers and effectively translating and helping staff to put into practice clinical care and framework concepts Must have excellent organizational and supervisory skills to handle multiple level complex patient care issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to utilize a telephone for internal and external communications. Able to utilize a telephone for internal and external communications. Competent in care provision in area of professional licensure. Self-starter with a high degree of initiative, motivation, flexibility, energy and creativity. Ability to form harmonious working relationships with internal and external customers. Demonstrated leadership and negotiation skills and the ability to manage resources for patient care in a cost effective manner. Excellent collaborative and problem solving skills with customers and management. Ability to exercise independent sound judgment in planning and providing patient care. Demonstrated ability in physical, psychosocial, and environmental assessment skills and in implementing plan of treatment. Excellent organizational , administrative and planning skills. Must be able to handle sensitive issues, conflict with or among others, respectively direct and reinforce staff efforts; effectively plan and organize and prioritize work, think critically to both effectively plan and organize department operations consistent with Kahi Mohala's strategic and operating objectives and to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult supervisor. Must be able to deal with challenging work environment with time demands and occasional conflicting priorities. Maintain a positive and professional image and demonstrate self-directed learning to meet professional development and/or license requirements. Is responsible for maintaining all required licensure and certifications. At orientation and annually thereafter, must be able to meet Kahi Mohala core competencies for position and area of specialty, as appropriate. Physical Requirements: Must meet basic health requirements of Kahi Mohala physical examination including 2-Step TB clearance. Must obtain and maintain current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Hospital approved management of aggressive behavior program-Crisis Prevention Institution Training (CPI)
