with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides
program management and facilities engineering services worldwide.
Planate is a small business provider of planning, design,
infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and
construction management services in support of the US Department of
Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps)
missions, along with other US federal agencies.The Quality
Assurance Representative is responsible for providing project
quality control and assurance plan; as well as conducting field
work for material verification and to check that work performed
complies with the contract statement of work, drawings,
specifications and submittal requirements.Primarily, the work of
performance will be in Honolulu District (POH), but occasionally
may include other Pacific Region locations such as Japan, Korea,
Alaska, American Samoa, Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas
Islands, Republic of Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, and
Republic of the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean Division
(POD) area.This position is contingent to the award of the
contract. The contract duration will be (3) year base period with
two (2) 1-year option periods.Key responsibilities:
- Visit project sites to obtain information on facility/site
conditions and develop recommendations during project
development
- Provide on-site quality assurance/control and safety
compliance
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and confer
with management or engineering staff to determine quality and
reliability standards. Ensures documentation is current, accurate
and available
- Maintain records of project progress
- Monitor compliance with environmental protection requirements
and document all findings
- Report and document instances of non-compliance with quality
control and safety requirements
- Test and inspect construction site/s at various stages of
production process and compiles statistical data to determine and
maintain quality and reliability of the process
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas
and confers with management or engineering staff to determine
quality and reliability standards
- Conduct product testing such as dimensions, performance, and
mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics at specified
stages in the construction process
- Record test data, applying statistical quality control
procedures
- Evaluate data and reports to validate or indicate deviations
from existing standards
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production
standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment
capability
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position
as may be appropriate.Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.; or five years related experience in
construction management; or equivalent combination of education and
experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have experience in
quality assurance documentation, updating of project schedules,
etc.
- Strong background in construction scheduling methods and of
building and construction crafts since detailed construction
Engineering knowledge shall be needed to verify that specific
workmanship is obtained
- Knowledgeable of the latest U.S. Army Corps of Engineers'
safety publications (including but not limited to EM385-1-1, OSHA
safety requirements) as well as all other applicable national
health and safety regulations, codes and standards
- Proficient with USACE - RMS, QA/QCS
- Strong English writing and spoken communications skillsDue to
