Responsibilities

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as the administrative officer and responsible for supervisory coverage including but not limited to coordinating and directing hospital administrative issues on assigned shift.
Manages and oversees bed control and staffing functions and activities, including agency staff, as assigned.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Essential: Standing, sitting, walking great distances, stooping/bending, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching above at, and below shoulder, running, pushing/pulling up to maximum 50 pounds, carrying up to maximum 50 pounds.
Operates various hospital equipment and machines.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
May be subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
Area of assignment encompasses total institution.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Current Hawaii State License as a Registered Nurse.
Bachelors degree in Nursing; Masters degree preferred.
Evidence of continuing education.
Current BLS/HCP certification.

B. EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
Three (3) years leadership experience in a hospital setting or related medical field demonstrating the ability to function as the administrative officer on assigned shift.
