Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:Job Summary The Client Services Send-Out Specialist does research for esoteric tests, will be responsible for providing send-out test information, including reference laboratory, specimen requirements, CPT codes, medicare reimbursements, laboratory cost/pricing to CLH staff as well as clients for testing performed by reference laboratories not set up in the system as well as help manage test changes and deactivations by reference laboratories. Work with marketing clinical and esoteric testing specialist, billing, clients and IT to help manage sendout test ordering. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years laboratory experience required in an LAS or LA role, including knowledge of medical/laboratory terminology or three (3) year experience as a LCSSI
    • Proficient use of computers with ability to quickly learn new information systems and software
    • Strong problem-solving and decision making skills required

        • Standardize Essential Functions Under limited supervision, and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:
          • Be a reference to CLH staff including ops, IT, client services, and marketing to help find esoteric testing options currently not set up in the system (i.e. calls can be referred to our "send-out department" for further review/research)
          • Return calls to CLH staff or client after review/research with testing options
          • Leverage all tools and resources (web portals, price lists, laboratory resources, marketing department) to help find the most cost effective testing without compromising patient care
          • Help implement and maintain the miscellaneous testing process by working with ops (PSC, lab), billing, client services, IT and marketing
          • Be the point of contact for reference laboratories, and IT when current tests are being updated or deactivated
          • Work with the marketing clinical and esoteric testing specialist to obtain pricing information and cpt codes from reference laboratories to help marketing, management, billing and IT make informed decisions to set new or replacement tests up in the CLH system
          • Work with billing and marketing to help retrieve reports or research unreconciled billing charges by the reference laboratory (i.e. retrieve paperwork sent by CLH to review if errors made on requisition, find out if a verbal addon was requested, etc)
          • Work with reference laboratories requesting phlebotomy/processing services where test kits are being used and help coordinate the draw/accessioning/shipping
          • Work with billing and the physician's offices in coordinating acquiring signed prior authorizations when necessary
          • Complete all administrative tasks thoroughly and promptly
          • Assist in the routine duties of the LCSS as necessary if time permits
          • Adheres to confidentiality, safety, compliance, and legal requirements
          • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with company guidelines on attendance
