Job Description:
Summary This position is located in the Department of Homeland
Security, U.S. Coast Guard, 14th Coast Guard District, Sector
Honolulu in Honolulu, Hawaii. Responsibilities You will provide a
wide range of secretarial and administrative support to the
supervisor and staff of the organization. You will facilitate the
performance of the supervisor's work by relaying information and
requests to officials within and outside the organization. Being a
Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard
team. Typical work assignments include: -Performing a full range of
procedural office work including acting as the first point of
contact to visitors and telephone callers, determining the nature
of the visitor/call, and directing to the appropriate personnel
when necessary. -Maintaining supervisor's calendar and scheduling
appointments and meetings. -Preparing and typing a variety of
letters, memoranda, reports, and other correspondence for review
and approval from supervisor or other staff members. -Determining
proper action for all incoming correspondence and reviewing
outgoing correspondence and reports. -Maintaining records
management, files and logs in accordance with regulatory policy.
-Making travel arrangements for supervisor and staff. This position
is eligible for telework in limited circumstances Requirements

position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Incumbent must be able to type 40 word per minute (wpm). All
qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the
announcement. This includes Time-In-Grade requirements for current
status employees applying through merit promotion procedures.
Status applicants applying for a promotion must have 52 weeks of
service at the next lower grade. Qualifications You qualify for the
GS-07 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience
equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal
service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you
with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully
perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related
to this line of work. Some examples of specialized experience are:
-Responding to routine and nontechnical requests for information
from visitors and callers. -Assisting with planning and
coordinating meeting and conference logistics such as location,
schedule, and preparing agenda. -Maintaining supervisor's calendar
and scheduling appointments and meetings with prior clearance or
guidance. -Preparing and typing routine letters, memoranda,
reports, and other correspondence for review and approval from
supervisor or other staff members. -Assisting with receiving and
sorting mail; aiding in determining the intent and routing
appropriately. -Assisting with establishing, reviewing, and
disposing of files in accordance with governing regulations.
-Helping supervisor and staff with travel arrangements. National

experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel
