Other Conditions: Inquiring candidates must be enrolled as a student at the University of Hawaii Manoa campus. The position's start date will be August 1, 2024.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with conducting dietary and nutrition research related to cancer with the Nutrition Support Shared Resource.
  • Collect, review, and code dietary records and 24-hour dietary recalls of research participants.
  • Interview and counsel study participants following study protocol regarding dietary intake and physical activity.
  • Enter dietary data using appropriate applications.
  • Assists in researching foods and dietary supplements for food composition and supplement databases.
  • Prepare manuscripts and present research at meetings.
  • Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, and availability of funds. Minimum Qualifications:
    • A classified University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate student (new or continuing) enrolled in Nutritional Sciences or a related graduate program.
    • Bachelor's degree in nutrition or dietetics and/or RD-eligible.
    • Good academic standing (3.0 GPA or above).
    • Competent in general computer programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
    • Applicants must be able to work independently and reliably as a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
    • Flexible and willing to learn new skills. Desired Qualifications:
