TimeExperiencedJob Description:About the RoleWe seek a passionate
and dedicated teacher to join our faculty to teach courses focused
on Place & Purpose Learning. This is an opportunity to inspire
young women to develop a strong sense of leadership, civic
engagement, and cultural stewardship. The Place & Purpose Learning
Teacher will guide students in exploring their connection to place,
community, and leadership through hands-on experiences and
interdisciplinary learning. Courses integrate themes of land
stewardship, civic engagement, and leadership, emphasizing
Hawai'i's history, environment, and governance. The ideal candidate
will create dynamic, student-centered learning experiences that
empower students as informed leaders and engaged community members,
while also teaching them valuable skills of self-reflection and
personal growth.Who You AreYou are a dedicated, mission-aligned
teacher passionate about the all-girls educational experience. Your
teaching capabilities are specific to this role, but you can be
versatile across subjects and/or grade levels. As an educator, you
possess a deep understanding of and passion for the subjects you
teach, fostering a supportive learning environment. You inspire
students to reach their full potential, embracing the opportunity
to make a lasting impact on tomorrow's leaders. As a colleague, you
are positive and productive in your collaboration with others and

You'll DoTeaching & Curriculum Development
- Teach Place & Purpose Learning 6, Place & Purpose Learning 7,
and Civics in Hawai'i (Grade 8), fostering a sense of purpose,
civic engagement, and environmental stewardship.
- Design and implement interdisciplinary, experiential lessons
that connect students with their local environment and
community.
- Incorporate project-based learning, fieldwork, and partnerships
with local organizations.
- Guide students in developing leadership skills, ethical
decision-making, and self-reflection.
- Work with students, families, and school staff to promote
student success and ensure student well-being.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and events focused on
student leadership and community engagement, including summer
programming.
- Actively participate in and contribute to general faculty work,
such as meetings and professional development,
self-study/accreditation, curriculum planning, student supervision,
special events, and more. Many hands make light work so we all
contribute to the success of the school, our students, and each
other.
- Depending on your strengths, experience, and the enrollment
needs, potentially teach classes other than this explicit teaching
line.
- Support and uphold La Pietra's mission and values.
- You have a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Education, or a related
field; added bonus if you have an advanced degree.
- You have taught in a full-time capacity for at least two years
(or the equivalent to two years full-time).
- You are willing to teach other courses and/or grade levels, as
needed.
- You possess a strong awareness of the role boundaries between
teacher and student while being a positive role model.
- You're an engaged colleague who thrives on collaborating with
other adults.
- You understand and appreciate the context of an all-girls
school and the culture, history, and diversity of Hawai'i.
- You will be here in-person, on campus, ready to get to work by
August 1, 2025.Physical & Cognitive Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues,
and community partners.
- Capacity to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse
learning needs.
- Ability to travel for fieldwork and off-campus learning
experiences.
- Capacity to move about campus and interact with students in
both indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Ability to use standard office and educational technology,
including computers, projectors, and learning management
systems.
- This position operates primarily in art studio
spaces/classrooms, and occasionally outdoors, as appropriate to the
lesson.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work for school
