Join Serco in support of the Fleet Systems Engineering Team - known
as the FSET. This is a Honolulu, HI based position supporting Navy
Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) Fleet Readiness
Directorate (FRD).
The FSET program facilitates the effective operation of all NAVWAR
afloat and ashore C4I systems throughout the entire Operational
Fleet Readiness Plan (OFRP) cycle. The FSET program is responsible
to supply senior technical advisors and system engineers that
provide end-to-end C4I systems engineering support to all Numbered
Fleet Command ships, Carrier, and Expeditionary Strike Groups
(CSGs, ESGs), Amphibious Ready Groups and at global locations that
support forward deployed Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) ships
throughout each OFRP phase.
The FSET program provides systems engineering and technical support
for the rapid introduction of new capabilities into the Fleet
through fleet experimentation and operational fleet exercises
in-port and underway. FSET program support is focused on OFRP
phases that start at initial workup through deployment, and during
maintenance and upkeep periods. FSET engineers also provide
technical C4I and systems engineering support services to Shore
facilities.
Fleet Systems Engineers (FSE) conduct on-site troubleshooting and
maintenance assistance for problems that cross multiple Navy
Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence,
Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems, provide
over-the-shoulder training, and assist Fleet customers with
executing various system-of-systems technical processes.
FSEs also observe C4I system performance and provide critical
feedback regarding computer network defense status and to ensure
Navy C4I systems are expeditiously restored in the event of system
malfunction, attack, cyber-attack, or other system impacting
incident. FSEs coordinate and provide repair of installed C4I
systems and other systems engineering services as required.
This role is for the Site Lead which manages FSET's within their
assigned AOR and liaisons with the Government FSET AOR Lead.
In this role, you will:
Be the Lead Afloat and Ashore Network Engineer for the FSET within
your assigned AOR. This is a supervisory position reporting to the
program manager.
Interface with senior military and government leadership through
regular communications and active engagement.
Management: You will be responsible for managing the team of
assigned FSE's within your AOR. This would include assigning tasks,
monitoring progress, providing feedback, and ensuring that projects
are completed on time and within budget.
Technical Guidance: You will be responsible for providing technical
guidance to your team of assigned FSE's. This would include helping
them troubleshoot issues, providing advice on the best practices,
and ensuring that they have the necessary resources and training to
perform their jobs effectively.
Resource Allocation: You will be responsible for allocating
resources, such as personnel and equipment, to your team of
assigned FSE's. This would involve assessing the needs of your team
and ensuring that they have the resources they need to complete
their projects.
Communication: You will be responsible for communicating with
stakeholders, such as other team leads, project managers, and
senior management, to ensure that everyone is on the same page and
that projects are progressing as planned.
Performance Management: You will be responsible for managing the
performance of your team of assigned FSE's. This would include
setting goals and expectations, providing feedback and coaching,
and addressing performance issues as they arise.
Planning and Strategy: You will be responsible for helping to plan
and develop the overall strategy for your team of assigned FSE's.
This will involve collaborating with other stakeholders to identify
goals and objectives, developing plans to achieve them, and
ensuring that your team is aligned with the organization's overall
strategy.
Overall, as a Site Lead for a team of Afloat and Ashore RF and
Network assigned FSE's, your responsibilities will involve managing
the day-to-day operations of your team of five (5) up to twenty
(20) personnel, providing technical guidance and resources,
communicating with stakeholders, managing performance, and
contributing to the organization's overall strategy.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Information Technology or other
relevant degree related to the job description listed above.
Seven (7) years of relevant experience with systems engineering to
include network design, implementation, management, and maintenance
of complex network architectures related to the job description
listed above.
Familiarity with NAVWAR Fleet Readiness Directorate (FRD) and NIWC
Pacific and Atlantic.
Active Certifications (One or more):
Security+ CE or other security certification needed to meet IAT
Level II
Operating System or other security certification needed to meet IA
compliance.
An active DoD TS/SCI clearance (Current or active within the past 2
years)
Must be able to occasional travel required up to 25%.
Must be able to work extended hours (compensated) periodically in
support of customer requirements ashore or afloat onboard Navy
vessels?
Be deployable to support Navy operational requirements, Navy
exercises and other SPAWAR FRD specific projects.
Must hold valid US passport.
