Duties Summary Inspects a particular phase of the construction of highways, to ascertain whether construction methods, practices and materials conform to plans and specifications, contracts, agreements and standard methods of work; and performs other related duties as assigned. NOTE: This is a non-professional level, engineering support position. Minimum Qualification Requirements To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements: Basic Education/Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalent. General Experience: One year of work experience in one or a combination of A or B below: A. Journey level experience in a construction trade. This experience must have required the ability to read and interpret blueprints or plans. B. Progressively responsible experience performing a variety of technical, non-professional engineering tasks under general supervision. This experience must have involved inspectional work and must be comparable to the Engineering Aid III level. The Engineering Aid III performs a variety of routine technical, non-professional engineering tasks under general supervision and perform other related duties as assigned. Examples of these duties include, but are not limited to, the reading of instruments and recording data in tests and observation studies; assembling and operating testing equipment which varies in type for different test purposes; performs arithmetic computations, using standard tables and formulas; plots data or results and draws simple curves.
