Here's how the job would look like: We, at Springboard Hospitality, are in search of a Sales Manager - Wholesale FIT, to join our growing team in Hawaii! You will be based in the Honolulu office. You will be accountable for proactively soliciting and handling wholesale/FIT sales opportunities. Additional responsibilities include assisting the Director of Sales & Marketing in preparation of marketing, advertising, sales plans, programs and annual budget; manage expenses within approved plans and budgets, and uphold key partner relationships. Here are your responsibilities:

  • Ensure business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery with proper interdepartmental communication
  • Assist in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building a long-term and value-based customer relationship that enable achievement of sales goals and objectives
  • Prospect new business through proactive solicitation, networking and cold-calling
  • Respond to customer requests, RFP's etc. in a timely matter to meet all deadlines
  • Attend Revenue Meetings/calls to present and review past results and future strategies
  • Meet and exceed established monthly, quarterly and annual targeted goals and profit margins at each hotel in the Hawaii Collection
  • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key wholesale/FIT accounts, community organizations, and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase our market share
  • Develop and execute segment strategies and action plans
  • Maintain regular attendance and is consistently on time
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with dress code
  • Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
  • Takes ownership of all work performed and communicated
  • Completes tasks on time or notified appropriate person with an alternate plan
  • Performs work with little or no supervision; works independently
  • Organizes resources, performs tasks, and coordinates with other functions to most effectively and efficiently perform work responsibilities and accomplish objectives on a timely basis Our expectations from you:

    • Possess a proven ability to solicit and book new and repeat business
    • Proficient in maximizing all sales revenue, sales lead sources, sales automation technology, and sales industry tools
    • Works well in group problem solving situations
    • Gathers and analyzes information skillfully
    • Solicits customer feedback to improve service
    • Personally demonstrates a commitment to customer service by anticipating and responding promptly to guest needs
    • Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels and partners as well as property teams to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative
    • Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings; activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
    • Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities
    • Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholder
    • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
    • Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals
    • Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
    • Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs
    • Gains understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution These are what the job requires:
      • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible management experience in wholesale/FIT hotel sales or related professional area, or 4-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Business or related major
      • Must possess effective verbal and written English communication skills
      • Advanced knowledge of sales and hospitality principles and practices is expected
      • Strong media, presentation and computer skills
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
      • Experience with Opera or Room Master preferred
      • Japanese language ability preferred
      • Comply with Springboard Hospitality and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
      • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
      • Must be effective in handling problem, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary
      • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
      • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information
      • Perform other duties as requested by management
      • Proven ability in driving sales revenue
      • Knowledge of local market preferred
      • Ability to collaborate and work with interdepartmental stakeholders Travel required: Local travel weekly. Other travel required a minimum of 2-5 times per year. Hours Required: 40 - 50 hours over a 5-day period.
