Job Description:
Bishop & Co. is recruiting for a HR Service Representative with
a major employer in the downtown Honolulu area! Candidate must have
own vehicle and be available to start ASAP!
HR Service Rep
Job Function:
- Serves as initial point of contact, responsible for accurate
and timely resolution of employee, retiree, and customer inquiries
and requests that are received via phone, email, the HR portal, or
other access channels. The inquiries may be related to personnel
processing and records management, employee relations, employment,
separation, benefits, pension, training and development, etc.
- Uses case management tool to accurately capture, track, and
follow-up on inquiries.
- Manages and maintains employee, retiree and applicant records
in HR, case management and other applicable systems.
- Creates and reviews system transactions and records management
associated with personnel changes. This includes but is not limited
to new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, retirements,
time-in-job progressions, incremental pay increases, etc.
- Assists with recruitment, selection, and placement of
candidates for employment. Responsibilities include creating job
postings, processing applications, maintaining applicant data for
tracking and compliance reporting, coordinating and conducting
pre-employment test administration, coordinating and conducting
pre-employment screenings (i.e, reference checks, background
checks, post-offer exams), and executing onboarding and employment
processing for new employees.
- Manages and maintains employee personnel files, benefits
folders, and employment forms according to Federal and State
recordkeeping requirements and retention guidelines.
- Provides general support to division/department/company such
as:
- Assists with community relations campaigns and events.
- Assists with corporate training and completion of benchmark
surveys.
- Prepares purchase orders, processes invoices, and corresponds
with vendors.
- Assists with dissemination of announcements, information,
changes (i.e., safety alerts, splicers, benefits updates and
sessions, etc.)
- Participates in Company emergency response activities as
assigned, including any activities required to prepare for such
emergency response.
- Additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
- Functional knowledge of personal computers and/or mainframe
systems and related business software applications (e.g.
spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentation graphics,
etc.).
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
- Basic proficiency in the use of a wide range of audio-visual
equipment (e.g. voice and video conferencing equipment)
- Strong functional knowledge of general office procedures and
practices, including knowledge of the basic principles of
collective bargaining agreements.

technologies.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills. Must be able

supervision.
- Ability to conceptualize new ideas quickly, understand and
discuss relevant issues and offer value-added solutions.
- Innovative and creative problem solving skills; ability to
solve difficult problems with effective solutions; and ability to
learn quickly when facing new problems.
- Ability to handle confidential information and matters and
material discreetly and professionally.
- Ability to lift and move objects (e.g. training materials,
audio/visual equipment) up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to meet schedules and deadlines with accuracy and
thoroughness.
Experience Requirements
- (1-3) years of Human Resources experience, preferably in
benefits, recruitment, leave management, employment, training, or
labor relations.
- (1-3) years of customer service experience preferred.

- Please note client has a COVID vaccine mandate in place
- Duration: Temp - through May-Aug 2022 possible extension
- Pay Rate: $23-25/hr DOE
- Location: Downtown Honolulu, HI
- Parking: Not provided
- Must have own vehicle
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7: 30am -
4pm
