This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned development professional who enjoys cultivating relationships, engaging donors in thoughtful ways, and creating memorable experiences that inspire generosity. You’ll manage major gifts and planned giving efforts while serving as a visible ambassador in the community—meeting donors for coffee or lunch, hosting intimate gatherings, and bringing fundraising events to life. What You’ll Be Doing Major Gifts & Planned Giving Lead and grow a portfolio of major and leadership donors, including planned/legacy gifts Design thoughtful cultivation and stewardship strategies that deepen donor engagement Build long-term relationships with donors and professional advisors Community Engagement & Outreach Leverage existing relationships within Hawai'i’s philanthropic and business community Represent the organization at community events, donor meetings, and outreach activities Actively cultivate new relationships through strategic outreach and personal engagement Events & Donor Experiences Plan and execute donor-focused events such as appreciation dinners, cultivation gatherings, and workshops Bring creativity to both new and annual fundraising events Collaborate internally to ensure events feel personal, mission-aligned, and impactful Strategy, Operations & Details Track donor activity, pipelines, and outcomes with strong attention to detail Monitor progress toward fundraising goals and provide clear reporting Partner cross-functionally to align donor interests with organizational priorities What We’re Looking For Proven experience in fundraising, major gifts, and/or planned giving Strong understanding of relationship-based fundraising and donor cultivation Strong connections within the Hawai'i community Comfortable with face-to-face outreach, donor meetings, and community presence Highly organized, detail-oriented, and follow-through focused Experience with fundraising CRMs and donor data management Bachelor’s degree preferred; CFRE a plus (or willingness to pursue) Compensation Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $75,000 – $85,000 depending on candidate qualifications. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
