Job Description:
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Instruct students and assist them in developing
their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, as well as
assisting them in developing intellectually, physically,
emotionally, socially and spiritually.ESSENTIAL
DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and evaluate curriculum that integrates faith with
essential content.
- Prepare daily course objectives, lesson plans, and materials
for the classroom.
- Implement lesson plans through sound methodologies that are
middle school appropriate.
- Reflect on teaching practices and efficacy. Model lifelong
learning.
- Motivate students to learn both the facts and the application
of material.
- Monitor student behavior and execute classroom behavioral plan
according to the needs of student.
- Issue progress and interim reports and grades in a timely and
professional manner.
- Communicate with parents on student progress, especially in
regards to difficulty with course objectives, and issues with poor
work habits or inappropriate conduct.
- Schedule parent conferences as needed.
- Work collaboratively with a team of teachers while embracing a
passion for middle school education.OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
- Order supplies; equipment; materials.
- Serve as a Class Advisor (shared duty with grade level
team)
- Coordinate with Department Chair, Counselor, Principal, and
colleagues to ensure student success and wellness.
- Attend faculty meetings and school functions (Supply Drop Off,
Camp, Ohana Nite, Open House, K--ikaw--, etc.).

- Spiritual : Candidates must have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord
and Savior and; demonstrate a living relationship with Jesus Christ
as described inThe Baptist Faith and Message (2000).
- Skills/Knowledge : Candidates must have strong knowledge in
subject area, current teaching methodologies, and applicable
technology. Strong classroom management and organizational skills
are preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are
essential. First Aid, CPR, and AED training will be provided.
- Education/Training : Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree
or higher in English or a related field from an accredited college
or university.SALARY RANGE: *$50,484 - $83,160* The pay rate
reflects the range of pay for faculty, which is dependent upon
educational degree and years of relevant experience.
